Papa

When I was in elementary school I can remember my fondest memories being of my Papa Bryant. I would spend every other weekend staying with my dad's parents. It always worked out because all the other grand children would come over also. We were so tight knit back then. My papa and I always woke up before everyone else. We even woke up before my Mima who would cook breakfest for everyone. Every morning we had the same routine. Papa would tell me family secrets and talk to me like I was an adult, while we ate our cereal and drank coffee. I loved it so much. He would tell me about his life growing up. How is ancestors were Irish and German. He told me that our last name was originally O'Bryant, but people weren't fond of Irish immigrants when his family came over so they had to change their last name. After we had our talks we would move to the living room where papa would sit in his recliner and I would sit on the floor beside him directly in front of the television and we would watch "The Three Stouges." He taught me important values and then we laughed and I learned and will never forget you cant take life too serious.
