Orlando Asson

My friend, Orlando Asson: graphic designer, photographer, musician and skateboarder is to thank for these recent portraits of me. This is definitely a first in portraits of me that feel so.... Epic. Hope you guys like!

Also, I'm updating from my phone, so please excuse if anything comes off as poor quality.

Long time, No post.

life has been conviently interrupted by my education and work.
something good has come out of the past few months, though.
i have a website with my friend haley douglas. we are in the process of starting
our own photography business. we thoroughly enjoy the art known as
photographing and indulge in every opportunity to do so.

we have a website you can visit: Cattura Photographs.
for business inquiries feel free to email us, there is a link on our contact page
or you can just contact us: catturaphotographs@gmail.com

also, i am now in the process of a new idea. with my sister kassie.
we are always throwing ideas at each other, we love to stay motivated and
passionate about our interests. so, we are creating a fashion blog.
we shall see how it goes. our tastes are fairly different. i wear skirts from
thrift stores and she wears expensive high heels. maybe we can bring it together and
create something fun and interesting. we're just getting started so there
isn't much to look at, but you can find us at http://www.thekatwall.blogspot.com/

thanks guys,

Kristen

iPhone 4: Personal Photography

Since I can't post the photography that is hopefully being saved from my malfunctioning, external hard drive, I want to post something; anything at all. So, here it is.

The photographer: shameless, self-portrait.

The Photographer's favorite memory of Summer so far:
Laying across the laps of her friends to capture a memoir of the evening.

The Photographer's Child: A cat named "Penny Lane,"

that was found beside her mail box on the eve of her 20th birthday.

The photgrapher's obsessions: kittens and cameras.

The Photographer's bad habits:

Exploring empty alley ways in the dead of night while searching

for empty words of wisdom written across hidden walls.

The Photographer's humorous finds:

Sentimental moments written across bathroom walls.

"what we know about sex, learned from alcohol.

what we know about love, learned from bathroom walls.

we know about love.

what little we know about love.

what we know 'bout love.

what little we know about love,

stole from rock n' roll."

-the matches

Dirt, conveniently for sale.

The Photographer's peace of mind:

Anywhere in the sun, by the water.

Any empty field of grass, with a cool breeze.

What the Photographer really wants to share:

The photography.

Pictures, within pictures, within pictures.

I need to say something

I need to post, but I can't do much with my pictures seeing as they are not doing too well.
My external hard drive is currently in the hands of "Geek Squad." It started making some interesting sounds and not showing up on my desktop. I'm praying that 170 gigs worth of photography is not lost forever or I am going to ball my little eyes out.
Waiting on them to call back with word on my baby is like waiting on your boyfriend to call when you know, even though you want to speak to him, its not going to be good.

Canon 5DMARKII
50mm lens

trying to get back in the swing of digital.
it feels like i'm starting over.
months without a digital makes you see things differently.
that picture that would've looked epic in film, almost looks like
a snapshot as digital.

traces of magical places

I am going back to this spot tomorrow... avec mon amies pour photographie!

Canon 5 D Mark II.
50mm 1.4 lens.
Probably shot this with something below 2.0 f-stop.
